My monthly programme for brains that won’t switch off.
Emails from me through the month, plus a live call together every month. It’s what I have learned over the years from both professional and personal experience alike, delivered a little at a time, for £25 a month.
Nothing to keep up with, and you can stop whenever you like.
THINK well. FEEL well. BE well.
Hello, You
Most of the people who find me think something is wrong with them. They’ve been holding it together for months, sometimes years. Pushing through. Trying to think positively. Trying to be better. And none of it has quite worked.
If that sounds familiar, please hear this first: nothing is wrong with you and you are not fundamentally broken. Your brain adapted and learned to stay on high alert because, at some point, it needed to.
That’s not a disorder. That’s a pattern. And patterns can change.
My one-to-one work is not for everyone, and I hate the thought of anyone going without help because of a waiting list, a budget or a diary that won’t stretch any further.
Stress Heads is my way of reaching more of you. It’s the same science and the same Regulate, Reframe, Rebuild method I use with my clients, written the way I’d explain it if you were sitting across from me. Minus the box of tissues on the table.
Most of it comes by email, on purpose. When you’re exhausted, the last thing you need is another app pinging you about your progress. My emails come to you, and they’ll wait patiently until you’re ready for them. And once a month, we get to talk properly.
Emails from me, through the month
When you join, my welcome email will be with you within a few minutes. It explains what stress does in your body, why your brain reacts the way it does, and gives you a few gentle things to try straight away.
After that, a new email arrives every week. Each one is a short read, or watch, with one idea and one small thing to try. Some will make you think. Some will hopefully make you laugh. All of them are there to help you feel more like yourself again.
A live call, once a month
Every month, we’ll get together for an hour on a live call on Zoom. It’s your chance to ask me questions, talk through what you’ve been trying and hear how other people are getting on.
Some months I’ll bring in a guest, someone whose work I love and who has something useful to add e.g. a nutritionist, an expert in confidence, sleep or emotional intelligence.
Come with a question, come with your camera off, or sit back with a cup of tea and listen. All of it counts. These calls aren’t recorded. I want you to feel safe to engage or contribute without any extra worry about privacy.
Neuroscience-informed therapy & counselling,
coaching and training | Wilmslow & online
Regulate: learning how to settle your body when stress kicks in, so your brain, mind and body can learn to communicate with each other more effectively.
Reframe: getting curious about the thoughts that keep the alarm ringing, with kindness and curiosity rather than judgement and criticism.
Rebuild: small, everyday habits that help calm feel familiar again.
“Tried everything and not sure this will be any different?”
Good. Sceptics are exactly the kind of people I work best with. You’re curious, you ask the right questions, and you realise quickly that you’re in control of the process. That’s where the work actually happens.
If you know something needs to change but one-to-one therapy isn’t possible right now, this is for you.
If you’d like to understand what’s going on in your head before anyone tells you to relax, this is for you.
And if you’ve tried things before and you’re a little doubtful this will be any different, you’re very welcome. Sceptics are some of my favourite people to work with. You ask the best questions.
Stress Heads is a supportive, self-paced programme, but it can’t replace one-to-one help.
If things feel like too much, or you’re finding it hard to keep yourself safe, please don’t wait until the next call: talk to your GP, call NHS 111, or ring Samaritans free on 116 123, any time of day or night.
You deserve proper support, straight away.
I’m Lisa, a senior accredited integrative psychotherapist, therapeutic coach and self-confessed neuroscience nerd based in Wilmslow and Alderley Edge. I talk to people like human beings. No Freudian couch, no “and how does that make you feel.”
I also live with multiple chronic conditions, so I know what it’s like when your body and brain aren’t on your side. It’s taught me that even when life is out of your control, how you respond to it isn’t. That’s not a motivational poster. It’s neuroscience.
When I’m not talking about nervous systems, you’ll find me salsa dancing, singing musical theatre far too loudly, or walking the dog.
Stress Heads is brand new, and you’d be one of the very first to join. I’d love to know what helps, what doesn’t and what you’d like more of. Your feedback will shape what this becomes, and the live calls are a lovely place to share it.
£25 a month during the beta. That’s emails from me all month and a live call every month
Not for the emails. If you can open an email, you’re in. For the live call, you’ll need Zoom, and the link will come straight to your inbox.
The third Friday of every month at midday. You’ll get a reminder by email beforehand.
Not at all. Come to every one, drop in when you can, or stick with the emails. There’s no such thing as falling behind here.
The calls aren’t recorded to ensure a space where people feel safe to engage but I’ll send you the key points of what was discussed to your email so you don’t miss out.
Not at all. Plenty of people prefer to listen, and that’s completely fine.
hello@lisa-jones.co.uk. Pop it into your contacts so I don’t end up in your spam folder.
It isn’t, but it’s built from everything I’ve learned as a therapist. If you ever want to go deeper, I’d love to talk about working together one-to-one. You can get in touch here.
Of course. Use the link at the bottom of any email. No questions, no hard feelings, and everything you’ve already received is yours to keep.
Your brain learned to live on high alert. With a little help, it can learn something new.
I can’t promise it will be easy.
It will absolutely be worth it.
I’d love you to join us.
