What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy offer a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences. It’s a place where you can slow down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and understand how past and present experiences may be shaping your life.

Through gentle, collaborative exploration, we begin to uncover patterns, beliefs and emotional responses that may be keeping you stuck. Understanding these patterns is the first step toward changing them.

A neuroscience-informed approach

My counselling work is grounded in applied neuroscience and brain health. This means we explore not just what you’re thinking or feeling, but why your brain and nervous system may be responding the way they are.

You’ll gain insight into:

  • Stress responses

  • Nervous system activation

  • Emotional regulation

  • The impact of life experiences on the brain

  • How neuroplasticity enables change

This helps you make sense of your reactions and gives you tools to regulate more effectively.

A personalised, compassionate way of working

Life can feel heavy when you’re constantly running on empty. If you’re experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, or emotional overwhelm, counselling and psychotherapy can offer the space you need to breathe, reflect, and begin to heal.

I strongly believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, valued and respected. I work with adults from all backgrounds, beliefs and identities and my practice is inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community.

My aim is to create a safe, supportive space free from judgement that allows yuo to explore whatever challenges you may be facing.

My work is person-centred, trauma-informed, and solution-focused. As a specialist in applied neuroscience and brain health, I integrate brain-mind-body approaches to support nervous system regulation and emotional resilience.

Benefits:

  • Reduced anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Greater resilience and emotional regulation
  • Improved relationships and self-understanding
  • Renewed sense of purpose and clarity

“Lisa’s approach to mental health is revolutionary! My whole life I had felt victim to my trauma, but through my learnings from Lisa, I have found a balance of having compassion for myself, ways to process emotions and taking control of my life. I now love myself and the person I’ve become.” Els, Bristol
