Not metaphorically. Literally. Supported by neuroscience and brain health.

I help people rewire their brains.

Most of my clients arrive thinking something is wrong with them and that they are “broken”. Nothing is wrong with you. Your brain just learned to adapt and respond to a certain situation. That’s not a disorder. That’s a pattern. And patterns can change.

THINK well. FEEL well. BE well.

About me

Hi, I’m Lisa

Mental Heallth, Anxiety, Pyschotherapist, Counsellor

BACP Senior Accredited  .  15+ years’ experience  .  EMDR Therapist  .  Qualified Supervisor

I’m a straight-talking integrative therapist and coach fascinated by neuroscience and brain health who has been in private practice for over 10 years. I specialise in helping people understand the connection between the brain, mind, and body, particularly when it comes to chronic stress, emotional dysregulation, and trauma.

Most of the people who come to me feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or like they’ve already tried everything. They’ve often spent years thinking something is fundamentally wrong with them. It isn’t. Their brains have learned a pattern. And patterns can change, not through willpower or positive thinking, but through understanding how everything is connected neurologically, mentally, emotionally and physically.  We work with your brain and nervous system rather than against it.

I blend counselling, psychotherapy, EMDR, therapeutic coaching, and applied neuroscience education into something that fits the person in front of me. Some sessions go deep. Some are fast paced and practical. All of them are grounded in a bio-psycho-social framework understanding what’s actually going on for you, not just how it feels.

I’m also direct and will (gently) challenge you. If I’m not the right person for you, I’ll tell you and point you somewhere that is. Life’s too short, and your nervous system has been working overtime for long enough.

Why work with me?

Because I get it. I know what it’s like to feel completely overwhelmed, stuck and like nothing works – you can read more about my story. I also know it’s absolutely possible to learn how to regulate your nervous system, optimise your brain health, and change your thoughts and the patterns keeping you stuck. The wonders of neuroplasticity. (I’m professionally obliged to find that exciting. Fortunately, it genuinely is.)

I practice what I preach and prioritise things that bring me joy like walking my dog, dancing and performing in musical theatre. Things that, at certain points in my life, felt completely out of reach. I got there. And that doesn’t mean life will always feel good and you won’t struggle by the way. We’re still human.

I will teach you tools and techniques to bring calm, inner peace and clarity to your life and create real, lasting change.

All you need to do is make a commitment to yourself and a willingness to start. I can’t promise it will be easy, but it will absolutely be worth it!

A personal note:

I live with multiple chronic conditions, so when I say I get what it’s like to feel stuck and overwhelmed, I really do. It’s not the most important thing about me, but it shapes how I work.

What chronic illness teaches you, eventually, and not without some resistance, is that even when circumstances are genuinely out of your control, how you respond to them is not. That’s not a motivational poster. It’s neuroscience. And it’s the reason this work matters to me beyond the professional.

Lisa's approach to mental health is revolutionary. My whole life I had felt a victim to my trauma, but through my learnings from Lisa, I have found a balance of having compassion for myself, ways to process my emotions and taking control of my life. I now love myself and the person I've become.
Els, Bristol
Having completed a series of counselling sessions with Lisa, I would not hesitate to recommend her. I was looking for support with managing stress and overwhelm. Each week we explored tools that I could take away and use in my own time. Lisa also followed up every session with a recap and useful links to articles and podcasts that helped to reinforce her advice. Lisa managed to help me self reflect and face those fears that I had been trying to ignore. I feel calmer and more focussed now that I have tools to help me face my challenges and recognise my own self sabotage. I have no doubt I will have further sessions with Lisa in the future as she has been kind, patient and supportive through the whole process and I gained far more from the experience than I ever expected. Thank you so much Lisa for making a difference.
Claire, Wilmslow
Lisa is a brilliant therapist. She is kind, knowledgeable, incredibly easy to talk to and will put you at ease instantly with her warm nature. I had EMDR therapy with Lisa which I was really nervous about but Lisa explained it clearly, answered all my questions and alleviated any worries and reservations I had. I’m so glad she did because the session was transformative. And she made me laugh and giggle throughout which has never been my usual experience of therapy! I highly, highly recommend Lisa, you won’t regret it!
Laurie, Cambridge
Brilliant. Life changing. I have felt like my old self (but with more wisdom from learning my hard way) and my anxiety has almost totally gone. Lisa was kind, patient, innovative and went with my flow. Can I give her 6 stars?
Rachel, Hampshire
"Lisa gets it and gets you. She's engaging, uses her own experience and expertise. There's no pretence. I would recommend her without hesitation."
Angie, Clevedon
